Since the beginning of my career as an entrepreneur in the late 90’s.

I have always believed, that an individual needs to have a balance between creation and giving. A successful person should make a plan for
giving, one that can really make an actual difference.

It is my belief, that promoting proposals on Urban Culture is one of the elements needed to make a difference in my Home Country. A country where 90% of the population live in Urban Areas, we have to encourage the idea of a Good Citizen.

In the year 2000, my partners and I, decided to propel a charitable enterprise in Venezuela promoting ideas, collecting aspects of urban culture, history, music, photography and literature. We named it, Fundación para la Cultura Urbana(FCU). Since then, La Fundación, has published more than 120 books, developed proposals to enhance the living standard of largest cities in the country, studied the 20th century immigration, and probably the largest Venezuelan urban photographic collection. FCU has grown through time, in spite of the difficulties we have gone through and was later spun off into three different nonprofit organizations including itself, Archivo Fotografía Urbana and Guataca.

“To encourage literature and the arts is a
duty which every good citizen owes to his country.”
